Here are the minutes from the February meeting - thanks to Kym for doing these for us.

Cochrane Business Chicks Meeting
Feb 28, 2011

Discussion Session
Sharing the workload – volunteers needed for the following:
Registration – Marlise, Lynne, Jeannie, Laurel, Maxine
Minutes – Sanda, Mandy, Kym
Email Coordinator – Rachel
Retreat – Lynne, Patricia, Marlise, Amanda
June was decided to be the best month for the retreat. 
Patricia – Idea for a male motivational speaker
        
Snacks?  No food at meetings but members are welcome to bring own snack/dinner if coming straight from work, etc

Business Mailouts to the group
Members ok with receiving emails
Central person should be in charge of sending out emails from group through Business Chicks account
If members have ads/events they want to circulate they can bring hard copy to meeting, or if urgent and between meetings can send through email
Ads for members businesses only
Mass emails should be sent by blind copy only so email addresses are hidden

Mastermind/Accountability Group  
What is it?  Like minded people discuss and give feedback on business or personal matters.  1. Confidential.  2. Holds members accountable to their own goals.   3. Brainstorming Sessions. 6-10 members per group.
Evelyn circulated sign up sheet if interested and groups can be formed depending on interest
           
Honorariums
Should we pay speakers?  No payment to members for giving presentations on their expertise or business.  Outside speakers will have to be determined individually.  If speaker charges for service, group will be consulted and additional charges may apply to cover expenses.



Policies/Procedures
Start keeping meeting minutes and binder of policies/procedures group decides on so if someone new Chairs group, they have a history of the group.
Maintain Members list

Blog Update
Vinny’s presentation from Jan is now on Blog.
Blog should be open to public, for members’ business exposure and marketing
Email will be sent to members to alert when new blog is posted

CBC Funds & Accountability:
Current Funds: $302.85
Currently cannot accept cheques as we have no bank account
Require Secretary and Treasurer; Co-signer
Vinny will continue to act as Treasurer until another member steps forward

Networking:
Interactive session on Elevator Pitches
Each member develops and practices their 2 minute speech
3 key things:
            What you do?
            How ?
            Measureable benefit?  #, %,  timeframe, $$?

Member Announcements:

Wendy – Working with Chamber on the Home Business Expo
               Give thought to vehicle you would like to use to advertise
               Give feedback to Wendy so something can be coordinated through Chamber

Vinny – Also involved with Chamber, send any feedback re: Chamber through her
